When i first introduced myself to Bella, she decided to nibble and grab inbetween my knuckles quite hard and attempt to pull me into her cage, lol. The shop assistant then proceeded to pick her up by and the tail and although my heart was already set in taking Bella home with me, that made it set even more. And from that day on she never had to go through the trauma of being picked up by her tail again.

Bella was a girl that knew what she would and definitely wouldn't put up with, she so far has been my first and only rat to properly bite me, she soon taught me that she did not appreciate being messed with before being woken up properly

I have a little scar on my hand that will always be my little reminder of Bellamory.
Bella was a big poser and seemed to always sense and love the camera...

I called Bella the Branflake rat (as she always seemed to go for the Branflakes in her bowl) and also my guinea pig rat (she was quite a large and beautiful girl).
She wasn't a rat that tended to want fuss or skritches much, but over the last few weeks she started to appreciate having her ears rubbed and would happily sit there for a few minutes licking away at air while I gave her an ear massage
Unfortunely on Tuesday I noticed Bella wasn't herself, she was quite lethargic and couldn't seem to be able to go anywhere other than on the bottom of the cage, she did have a tumour/lump under her back leg that was growing quite quickly which I thought might've been the cause of this, but it wasn't that big that it could've affected her moving around the cage. Within the next 2 days she pretty much stayed the same but by Friday she really wasn't herself, she couldn't seem to manoveur properly or eat her babyfood properly. She'd already been to see the vet the day before and was prescribed meds and basically took a turn for the worse by Friday morning.
I took her back to the vets and this time saw a more rat-savvy vet and we noticed that she wasn't using her one front paw properly and was circling alot. We both agreed that having her put to sleep was the best option for her
As heartbreaking a decision that it was I knew it was the right thing, she didn't seem happy at all that morning.

I love you Bellamory and miss you so much.
Rest well and play hard at the bridge girly <3
