I've got a list of several food items that I've recently wondered, is it good for ratties?
Strawberries - heard these were poisonous

unpopped popcorn and olive pits - I usually throw these away but I thought, maybe they would like them to chew on?

beer - obviously not a great idea but my boyfriend thinks it's funny ... :/ how bad is it?

you can check out this really nice sticky on things your rats would love for you to get them, things you shouldn't ever give them, and things you can occasionally give them in small amounts:

i have fed my rats strawberries before with no problems and haven't had anyone yell at me for doing so yet, but if you can find a reliable source that says we shouldn't be doing this, please do share! olive pits would fall under "fruit seeds" which shouldn't be fed to your critters. i don't see why your rats wouldn't be able to eat unpopped popcorn, but i don't think i would personally, and definitely not if it was salted/buttered/otherwise flavored. the carbonation in beer might give your ratties a stomachache, and besides, animals metabolize alcohol differently than we do. seeing your pets tipsy might be funny for a while but i consider it cruelty as your poor kiddo doesn't understand what's happening and she might go straight from wobbly to very sick or even dead. i have heard many many horror stories of dogs dying this way, i wouldn't risk it with an animal so much smaller. maybe a taste off your finger would suffice your boyfriend's sense of humor, but no more!

Ditto that. I wouldn't risk it
